A 3 day intensive to encourage dancers to be challenged, stretch and grow!  Junior level intensive for ages 8-10, Teen level intensive ages 11-13 and Senior level intensive for ages 14 & up.

The Faculty

Daniel Baudendistel

Daniel has trained with Jonathan Watts, Larry Long at the Ruth Page Foundation, Roger Tully in London, and David Howard in New York. He danced with American Ballet Theatre, The Joffrey Ballet, and the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company. He has been featured with the BBC of London and appears in the documentary film “Ballet Russes.” He was televised in Russia dancing with Ekaterina Maximova at the Kremlin Palace, as well as appearing with Gala Des Etoiles in Montreal. He is noted for his partnering skills and dramatic roles.

Mr. Baudendistel was awarded First Prize at the Saint Sauveur International Choreographic Competition. He has choreographed ballets for the ABT Studio Company, Oregon Ballet Theatre, and ABT Summer Intensive Programs. He has also directed and choreographed for the Hiroshima Opera Company.   In addition to this he performs with the Ballet Arizona and has been featured in Don Quixote, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Sleeping Beauty and Romeo and Juliet.

As a teacher he has worked with students at the ABT Summer Intensive in New York, The Joffrey Ballet, and continues to coach dancers privately around the world. He is noted for his knowledge of kinetic principles, music theory, and understanding of the classical form as it relates to the dance. He was Professor of dance at the New School University Eugene Lang College in New York City. He takes great pride in his extensive dance collection.

 

Justin Quandt

Justin is a graduate from “The University of Arizona”, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance. A multi-talented dancer and teacher, his training has taken him from USA, Europe, Central America and to Australia!  Justin has also spent his summers intensely studying in Chicago with the Gus Giordano and River North Jazz Dance Companies. He performed with Tyra Banks on America’s Next Top Model, appeared on Dance Moms Season 6 and 7, was featured in Dance Spirit Magazine, company member with the David Taylor Dance Theatre, in Denver, Colorado. Justin danced for Royal Caribbean Cruise Line Productions and can be seen as a guest artist/choreographer for various companies and studios throughout the United States. He also performed at the “Lido” in Paris, France for almost 5 years!  Justin lived in Sydney, Australia where he taught throughout the city. He also adjudicated for Eisteddfod’s, Showcase, and taught on the Showcase Convention tour throughout Australia and New Zealand. He currently resides in San Diego, where he is now teaching/choreographing throughout the city, judging dance competitions, and teaching on convention tours from the west to the east coast!

Ashley Carter

Both internationally as well as in the U.S., Ashley is passionate about her work as a dancer, teacher and choreographer. Primarily trained in New York, she has studied and worked in many different styles from ballet to lyrical, modern, tap, hip-hop, contemporary, and musical theatre. She has had the opportunity to perform and/or choreograph at venues such as Jacob’s Pillow, Teatro Madrid, The Gerald Lynch Theater, The Barrow Street Theater, SummerStage, The Highline Ballroom, Spoke the Hub, Webster Hall and the Ailey Theatre. Ashley is also on faculty at Peridance in New York, various schools in Mexico and Spain; and has taught at Broadway Dance Center, Steps on Broadway, and Ballet Arts in New York City, Lines Dance Center in San Francisco, Tony Williams Dance Center in Boston and Round Rock Repertory in Texas.

She can be seen working alongside artists such as Ricky Martin, NeYo, Lady Sovereign, Nicki Minaj and Mila Kunis, for companies like Pilobolus, Germaul Barnes/Viewsic Expressions, Momentum Dance Company, Fendley’s Fingerprints, De Funes Dance, Moochaloo and Balasole, and for brands such as Nike, Nokia, Ursus Vodka, Microsoft, Heineken, Yahoo, and Lush Cosmetics. She has been seen off-Broadway in shows like West Side Story and 3 to 1.

Barbara Seibert Chatelain

A native of York, Maine, Barbara Seibert began her early ballet training with Warren Lynch, a principal dancer with the Boston Ballet. In 1975, at the age of 15, she was accepted into George Balanchine’s School of American Ballet. While a student there, she studied with Alexandra Danilova, Felia Doubrovska, Suki Schorer, Muriel Stuart, Stanley Williams, Antonina Tumkovsky , Helene Dudin and Andrei Kramarevsky. Ms. Seibert participated in the New York City Ballet Education Department’s Lecture Demonstration program, performing the first and second girl in George Balanchine’s Concerto Barocco for local schools under the direction of Suki Schorer. She also toured the US with Patricia McBride and Jean- Pierre Bonnefous’ student company, dancing Bugaku and Concerto Barocco. In the summer of 1976, she studied with Melissa Hayden at Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, NY. She was chosen by Jacques d’Amboise to dance in the United Artists film Slow Dancing in the Big City. For her SAB graduation performance, she was chosen to dance a ballerina role in Divertimento no 15, staged by Suki Schorer. At the age of 18, George Balanchine asked Ms. Seibert to join the New York City Ballet.

Heather Brumett

Dr. Brummett completed her Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and Chemistry in 1997 and graduated with distinction in 2001 with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University. She started her physical therapy career in 2001. Since then, Heather has worked with all ages in injury prevention as well as with those recovering from injury and surgery. As a former professional dancer and high school athlete, she is passionate about her work in dance and sports medicine. She works with the dance community assisting dancers and all female athletes recover from injury and enhance performance. She is a Polestar Pilates Educator and Pilates Instructor certified with The Pilates Method Alliance (PMA). She has been teaching movement strategies with Pilates since 2002. She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the NSCA and is a Certified Manual Therapist (CMPT) with North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT). Heather is a unique physical therapist, and has a unique clinic in Phoenix, AZ not only with the with the ability to incorporate Pilates principles into 1-1 physical therapy sessions for long-term results, but also to offer Pilates for fitness and wellness for improved life function.
